Female-only guesthouse, unique in Gifu Prefecture, Japan.

You will be surprised finding this beautiful wooden house in the middle of a typical Japanese residential area.

A gentle tree fragrance will welcome you when you come in and the rays of light will enter through the windows like sunlight in the forest.

This is the ideal place if you want rest and spend some time forgetting about the day-to-day things.

Note: This guest house is female only but we accept male guests as long as they come accompanied by a female guest (for example, a couple or family).

The “U” sound that gives name to this guesthouse has several meanings in Japanese:

  • Feel free to visit 遊(U)
  • Spend time leisurely 悠(U)
  • Know new friends 友(U)

Also the name of the owner’s son contains the symbol *Yu* 雄 and it means “hero”.

You must be at least 13-year old to stay.

Please contact us as soon as possible if you think your arrival will happen after 19:00.

Price

Price: 16,000 yen/pp, if you stay more than two guests, 8,000 yen/pp.
*CASH ONLY, please pay when checking in.

You will have access to a restroom on each floor, Japanese-style bathroom, refrigerator, washing machine, hairdryer and air conditioner (each room).

All amenities are prepared except for night gown.
We offer a variety of sizes and types of pillows, find your favorite!

Free Service

We offer laundry detergent and towels in the washroom so feel free to use them.
One water bottle is free for you.

Please ask our staff about the Wi-Fi password when you check-in.

There is free parking space available for cars and bikes.

Guesthouse “U” is just 2 minutes walking from Meitetsu Rokken Station, 8 minutes from JR Sohara Station and 10 minutes driving from Kakamigahara IC. Car rental is just 10 minutes walking from the guesthouse.

We don’t serve food but there are plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby. Ask our staff for details.
